Meet the JVP team - Siôn

Siôn Jones is a key member of our team and in his time with us to date, he’s certainly worn many hats! They include Head of Marketing, and he’s now carrying out a Talent Attraction Partner role alongside project delivery responsibilities too.

How long have you been working at JVP?

Amazingly, it’s been seven years – I can’t quite believe where the time has gone!

What did you do before you joined JVP?

After graduating from Liverpool John Moores University in 2013, I worked at Tesco whilst searching for an opportunity to take my first step on the career ladder. And that’s when I had the opportunity to join the team as a trainee.

Tell us a bit more about your role

Since joining JVP I’ve held a number of positions in the business, and supported its expansion and launch of sector specific recruitment platforms including Jobs in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure and, most recently, Jobs in Engineering.

From supporting clients to ensure successful recruitment advertising campaigns, to helping HR professionals find the right solutions for them, all while also working with colleagues on company marketing campaigns and events – my role is varied, busy and I love it!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Definitely the variety, and how (cliché incoming!!) no two days are the same. Because of this, there’s always more to learn. It’s enabled me to gain so much knowledge and many new skills. It’s never boring!

And what’s the biggest work challenge you’re dealing with at the moment?

Managing how busy we all are – but what an amazing challenge to have as a growing organisation!

What work achievement are you most proud of?

Given that I’ve been here for seven years, it’s really hard to pick out one specific achievement. But thinking about the big picture I would have to say that overall it’s seeing how much the company has grown and the amazing team we have here. So much has changed and evolved over those seven years but one thing hasn’t – our core values. Those core values are about the quality of, and pride in, our work, our passion for communication and building relationships with our clients, and our drive for results. It’s what makes us stand out and it’s why we’ve got to where we are.

What’s your favourite biscuit?

It has to be Fox’s Crunch Creams – as long as there’s a cup of tea to hand!

What kind of music do you enjoy?

Depending on my mood, it could be anything from funk rock to jungle! It’s probably easier to name what I don’t enjoy – which is most (although not all) Country music!

Do you have a pet?

Yes I do. Although I would have to say less of a pet and more of a wild animal. Specifically, a Tasmanian Devil! He’s called Charlie, and here he is being, for once, a good boy. Just look at that innocent face…but don’t let it fool you!
