What did you do before joining JVP Group?
I joined JVP after graduating with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Manchester. During my time at university, I had design roles for various projects and worked closely with marketing teams including for the popular student newspaper The Mancunion and as the Head of Design for the Women in Media Conference 2023. I loved these experiences and learned a huge amount from them so was keen to find a role where I could continue to use my skills in design and marketing.
Tell us a bit more about your role as Marketing Coordinator and Designer at JVP
It’s a really varied role! It involves a mixture of creating graphics for social media campaigns for client job adverts as well as for JVP Group marketing. I get involved with ensuring articles and press releases get plenty of coverage and engagement, along with compiling and publishing case studies and testimonials. I’m also involved in designing a wide range of marketing materials and campaigns for JVP along with supporting the team as a whole with all kinds of operational activities such as publishing adverts and skills testing.
What are you looking forward to achieving in your role?
I’m looking forward to working on larger projects like marketing for our upcoming webinars, and getting ready for JVP attending the CIPD annual conference and exhibition in Manchester this November. It’s also going to be great getting involved with creating lots of video and podcast content. On a day-to-day level, I’m relishing the opportunity to use my skills to help develop and implement job advertising campaigns that produce the best results possible for our clients.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to read and can spend hours with my head in a good book! Going on a long walk or spending time with my little nephew is also a weekend favourite, and when I can find the time, I love to paint! Especially when it’s sunny - a perfect afternoon would be spent in the garden with some oil paints and a good playlist.
What’s your favourite biscuit?
This one is bound to spark debate - Jaffa cakes! I know their membership in the biscuit category is widely debated (in fact, it was a subject of discussion in the JVP offices recently!) but I’m not a huge lover of dry biscuits. In my opinion Jaffa cakes have a much better texture and flavour than traditional biscuits. But they still have that convenient snackable size that makes them so appealing!
Do you have a pet?
I have a dog! A beautiful Lurcher-Collie cross named Lacey. Her litter was born at North Clwyd Animal Rescue, and I immediately fell in love with her eyes - she has one blue and one brown - and so naturally I insisted we had to take her home, despite the rest of my family being more inclined towards her brother. Eight years later and she is the most spoiled dog I’ve ever met!
