But did you know from June 30 the
law will change, and all employees with at least 26 weeks service will have the
right to request flexible working? As an employer you must provide a valid
business reason as to why a request cannot be granted.
What are the basics?
The right is to request flexible working. It is not a right to be given flexible working. This is an important distinction.
ACAS has produced a useful written guidance to employers on points to consider when a request is made under the new legislation, together with a Draft Code of Practice.
