The growing company delivers these world-class products and solutions to customers around the globe, from industries such as oil and gas to chemical, pharmaceutical and mining.
On a rapid journey of growth with the aim of doubling turnover within five years, and with key deliverables from the Engineering function being crucial to the success of the business, Extronics decided to add to their existing Leadership Team with the new role of Engineering Director.
Playing a key role in influencing the strategic direction of the business, the suitable applicant needed to be an experienced Engineering Director or Head of Engineering, in addition to having superb commercial acumen and great leadership skills to manage the team of c.15 Engineers and multiple R&D projects.
One of the main areas of focus for the business during the recruitment process, is alignment with their core values. As well as being costly, it was often difficult for recruitment agencies to grasp the importance of these when sourcing candidates. The team at JVP were keen to support the business with a comprehensive marketing campaign which could attract high quality talent, aligned with their core values, without needing to pay tens of thousands to recruitment agencies.

In a firmly candidate-driven jobs market, it's crucial that job adverts are fully utilised to help attract the strongest applicants. JVP's creative team set about crafting a professional and SEO optimised job advert that focused on informing and attracting senior level applicants.
The job advert was promoted for up to six weeks on JVP's network of over 200 job sites including CV-Library, Jobsite, TotalJobs, plus a wide range of regional, and specialist engineering and executive job sites.
With 79% of job seekers likely to use social media in their job search, the JVP Recruitment Marketing team undertook a comprehensive social media campaign to ensure that any passive as well as proactive job seekers were targeted.
Intriguing social posts coupled with striking graphics were shared with over 30,000 connections across LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. In addition, a targeted approach was taken to promoting vacancies on relevant social media groups, and numerous connections were made with experienced and qualified professionals, enabling the exposure of the vacancy to both active and passive job seekers.
The JVP cloud-based Applicant Tracking System (ATS) enabled Extronics to have all applications centralised and made it easy for them to quickly shortlist and respond to applicants. This significantly reduced the time spent on recruitment administration and enabled users across the business to have access to the talent pool of applicants.
An experienced member of the JVP recruitment team reviewed all applications and contacted applicants to complete a checklist which ensured key elements of the job advert had been understood, and that they met Extronics' essential criteria - saving even more valuable time whilst still giving Extronics full access to the applicant talent pool on the JVP Portal.
Over the course of the recruitment advertising campaign Extronics received 13 experienced and qualified applications, allowing the Hiring Manager to have a selection of talented candidates to choose from. In a matter of weeks Extronics had successfully appointed for the role, and not only were they able to recruit swiftly, they were also able to reduce their recruitment costs by thousands of pounds by not using a recruitment agency.
